Risk Mitigation at the California State University (CSU)
Each of the California State University’s 22 campuses* are responsible for administering its risk mitigation programs in a manner that will attempt to minimize risk to CSU students and employees, as well as visitors, and protect the property of the campus. Risk mitigation is an important element in the CSU’s mission to provide cost-effective access to world-class curriculum in a positive and enriching environment. Each campus has designated a risk manager to assist program staff and faculty in maintaining the campus risk management policies and practices.
*Transition to 22 universities in progress (Cal Poly and Cal Maritime integrating)—official Fall 2026.
